Describing a Setting

This term I have been learning to describe a setting.
Success Criteria:

  • use describing words
  • use language features e.g. alliteration, similes
  • hook the reader by using my senses e.g. see, hear, feel etc

The sun was bright like a flaming ball.  The trees were waving in the wind and blustering the clouds away.  The mountain is as rocky as an erupting volcano and the grass
is flat like paper.  The water falls off each step in a cascade.

Reflection:  It was hard for me to think of some ideas.  I think I used some good words like
blustering and cascade

Well done Esmond, you tried hard to add detail to describe the setting. I like the way you described the sun as a flaming and said the trees were waving. Good try.
